Muay Thai has become popular worldwide. Part of the reason for the increasing interest in this ancient martial art form is that many international mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters use it to overcome their opponents. This has led to the rapid growth of Muay Thai schools, training facilities and stadiums in Thailand.
Bangkok has become a magnet for international visitors who come to immerse themselves in Muay Thai fighting and learn as much as possible.
Muay Thai stadiums are located all over the city, and your visit may require a month or more to fully enjoy your immersive Muay Thai experience. Amanta Hotel & Residence Ratchada is a long-stay hotel on Ratchada Road, close to the Thailand Cultural Center MRT station, one of the stations along Bangkok’s modern interconnected rail transit systems.
Booking a room at Amanta Ratchada provides a spacious and convenient base from which to learn everything you can about this fascinating form of martial arts while you’re here. We’ll tell you how to get to each of the venues from Amanta Hotel & Residence Ratchada.
Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium
There are two famous Muay Thai fight venues in Bangkok. Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium is the oldest and most prestigious. The stadium, often called Radja, was first opened in 1945. It’s been the site of many Muay Thai championships and is revered in the local Muay Thai community.
The stadium is open every day of the week, from around 6 PM to 7 PM every evening until about 10 or 11 PM. Ticket prices range from THB 1,500 to 4,500 (higher-priced tickets include VIP seating and a free flow of beer).
It’s located in the older part of the city near the Chao Phraya River. The best way to reach it is to take the MRT to Sukhumvit Road, transfer to the BTS and take it to the National Stadium station, and then take a short taxi ride to the stadium. It is not advisable to take a taxi all the way from the hotel in the early evening rush-hour traffic.
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium is the other venerable Muay Thai fight venue in Bangkok. It’s been moved from Lumpini Park to Ram Intra Road near Don Muang Airport, and has been renamed the New Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. The stadium is in operation on Fridays from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM, and Sundays starting from 4 PM. Ticket prices range from THB 800 to 1,500.
You can reach the stadium directly by rail. Take the MRT to Chatuchak Station and transfer to the BTS heading north. Transfer to the Pink Line monorail and take it to the Ram Inthra 3 Station. It’s a short walk to the stadium from there.
Channel 7 Boxing Stadium
The Channel 7 Boxing Stadium is located near Chatuchak Park and operates only on Sundays, starting around 2 PM. Arrive early at this stadium as the televised fights are free to watch in person, and it’s usually packed. Simply take the MRT to Chatuchak Station, and the stadium is about a 10-minute walk away.
Thupatemi Muay Thai Boxing Stadium
This stadium is next to the Don Muang Airport, north of Bangkok. It operates only on Mondays, with fights starting at 6 PM. You can reach it by taking the MRT north, transferring to the BTS at Chatuchak station and continuing north to the Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital BTS station. The Thupatemi Boxing Stadium is a short walk from the BTS station.
MBK Fight Night – Muay Thai in Bangkok
The MBK Center is one of the largest shopping centers in the city. It hosts free Muay Thai Boxing matches on the first and last Wednesdays of every month. Simply take the MRT to Sukhumvit Road, transfer to the BTS and take it to the National Stadium. Muay Thai Boxing happens on G floor of the MBK Center.
Siam Boxing Stadium
This venue is only accessible by taxi for Bangkok visitors. It’s out in Samut Sakhon, across the river from the city center. However, it’s worth the trip as there are many professional fighters here, including talented foreigners. The presence of foreign fighters means you’re much more likely to see knockout matches, as they are in heavier weight classes. It also offers inexpensive tickets from THB 200-600. The action happens only on Saturdays, starting at 12:15 PM. Matches are also aired on Thai Channel 3.
Rangsit Boxing Stadium

This is an older, traditional-style stadium located north of Don Muang Airport. It is reachable by taking the MRT to the BTS Sukhumvit line heading north and disembarking at the Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital BTS station. You can take a short taxi ride from there. The stadium features two rounds of boxing, one for males and one for female fighters. Matches are held on Tuesdays and Fridays, and foreigners are charged THB 1,500 per ticket.
World Siam Stadium
World Siam Stadium may be one of the most convenient Muay Thai venues in the city, as it’s located next door to The Mall Bangkapi and can be easily reached by both the Yellow Line Monorail and the San Saep water taxi. However, it was built during the pandemic and hasn’t yet started regular operations. Tickets are priced at THB 800 and 1,000 for this relatively small and intimate stadium.
